A deck of cards could help retrieve long-lost treasures. At least, that is the goal. Plus, you could be awarded $25,000 if you help find any of the lost items. The Monuments Men Foundation for the Preservation of Art has created a deck of playing cards with 52 works of art and two sets of historical photo albums with works stolen by the Nazis and Adolf Hitler. The playing cards are called “WWII Most Wanted Art.” Monuments Men and Women are the scholar-soldiers who protected artistic cultural treasures during World War II. They now work to help find missing objects and return them to their rightful owners. Up to $25,000 is being offered for information leading to the recovery of each cultural object included in the deck.

Did you know that customized playing cards have a rich history? For example, they were used in the Civil War, World War II and most recently, the Iraq War, to bring visibility to a particular mission. Now they are being used to help find lost artifacts and treasures. To get the cards, go to monumentsmenfoundation.org/wwii-most-wanted.
