Etch A Sketch, the 1960s best-selling toy made by Ohio Art Co. of Bryan, Ohio, was invented by Andre Cassagnes, a French electrician who sold his rights to the toy for $25,000. He died in Paris on Jan. 16, 2013, at the age of 86. The original toy sold for $2.99. Today a new one costs $14.99. Old working Etch A Sketches can be found easily and sell for about $25. Working toys made in 1960, the year the toy was introduced, would be more valuable.
