The drawings weren’t buried in the Hundred Acre Woods, but five original sketches that served as a backdrop to Christopher Robin, the irrepressible Winnie-the-Pooh, funny little Piglet and the always depressed Eeyore recently surfaced after being out of public sight for almost half a century. All drawn by British illustrator E.H. Shepard, the drawings immediately soften the hardest hearts with images of the “Pooh Trap for Heffalumps,” a map of the Hundred Acre Woods (estimated at $200,000 alone), and Christopher Robin’s famous friends.
All five items are expected to go up for auction in the English Literature, History, Science, Children’s Books and Illustrations sale at Sotheby’s in London on July 10. Combined, the map and four original sketches are expected to sell for from $415,000-$590,000. Let’s hope it’s not a blustery day!

Seems like a low estimate…..double it. And Andy whoever responds here from Kovels is not into details.
just wow.
Pardon a quibble, but as anyone who has read the books (or has had the books read to them 🙂 can tell you, it’s the Hundred Acre Wood (singular), not Woods.
