The WVIZ/PBS Televised Auction is an exciting live television event to help raise funds for WVIZ/PBS Ideastream in Cleveland. This year’s Golden Anniversary Auction starts on Thursday, April 20, and continues through Sunday, April 23. Terry, a longtime supporter of WVIZ, will be auctioning antiques and collectibles from the practical to the priceless on air and online at the “X Table” on Thursday, Friday and Sunday.

Viewers can enjoy the thrill of live bidding—online or by phone—on thousands of items, everything from antiques and collectibles to toys, wine, restaurant and grocery gift certificates, tickets to theater, sporting events, trips and priceless special events.

Antiques lovers will have lots to bid on. There will be a lot of antique glass—a collection of pressed glass lamps, art glass cruets, many bottles and period paperweights; lots of art pottery, including Roseville and Gouda; Holt-Howard melon bowls; silver; full sets of 20th century dishes, including sets by Minton and Wedgwood; and advertising art that includes signs, tins and Vienna Art plates. Find a collection of 18th century plates from England and a set of hammered Los Castillo silver tumblers from Mexico. Furniture offerings include an antique Sheraton sideboard, antique child’s bed, midcentury H-shaped Lucite and glass cocktail table, a Victorian sofa, an inlaid Korean low table and three period dining room sets with chairs. There is also a doll house and doll house furnishings, including a tiny sewing machine, stove, lamps, and tea set.

Unique items include a Victorian cast iron cane stand (canes, too!), 1930s sewing table with three drawers loaded with supplies, an old churn, vacuum cleaner, shoeshine stand, and much more. Everything is sold without reserve.

Viewers can preview auction items and register to bid online or by phone (866-393-2525) by going to the WVIZ website. Please note that successful bidders who live outside the Cleveland area must pay shipping costs for anything larger than a gift certificate. There are always bargains and great surprises, as well as the unexpected, so join the fun – and see Terry – on April 20, 21 and April 23!
