You should put something next to it to show its size.
Its hard to tell the size by just the picture of the item.

Thank you for guessing! A lot of you guessed correctly. It's a watch holder -you put a pocket watch in the rest at the top and then it could be used as a clock.

Looks like a soap dish - if tall, on the floor; if short, then on the counter by the sink.

Looks like display stand for a pocket watch, but it is difficult to be certain since it's not possible to judge the size of the piece.

It is a letter seal that presses a decorative pattern into the melted wax on a letter or envelope. The pattern is on the base.
