Dogs were popular pets in Victorian times and wealthy owners dressed them in expensive collars. “Mrs. M. Annie Blair, Belvidere, N.J.,” received a dog collar as a gift from “Ellie, Sept. 25th, 1868” with engraving on the coin silver collar. It had a padlock but no key. It sold at the online show by the Antique Dealers Association of America for $1,250.
