Chevy vehicles with low mileage and little wear sold at auction in Nebraska the last weekend of September. Five hundred cars and trucks from 1956-1980 kept in storage until 1996 brought thousands of bidders to the town of Pierce in northeast Nebraska. Highest price was $140,000 for a blue 1958 Chevy Camero pickup truck that had been driven 1.3 miles. Also sold was a 1963 Impala for $97,500. Cars sold with an 8 to 12 percent buyer’s premium. It was a rare chance to buy an old car in original, unrestored condition, and hundreds of buyers went to Nebraska to examine the vehicles and buy cars or parts. The original owner of the cars was a dealer who put unsold cars in storage at the end of each year. For more information, see our ezine of Sept. 4, 2013.
