A record $36.1 million was paid for a small rare porcelain cup made in China sometime between 1465 and 1486 (during the Ming Dynasty). The "chicken cup" is decorated with a blue rooster, hen and chicks. The cup set a record for any piece of Chinese porcelain. The new owner plans to display it in his museum in Shanghai. He dropped out of school at 14 to help his mother in her handbag shop and became a billionaire by trading stocks. The cup sold on April 8, 2014, at Sotheby's Hong Kong.
