It’s a reproduction lithophane lamp. Has a metal holder with molded porcelain picture panels. Put a candle inside to see the designs in the glow.

This is called a “make-do”. It is a cup that was broken and repaired. This one appears to be a lithophane…a type of thin porcelain that when lit from inside, shows the molded design.

It’s a really ol’ skool movie projector. You put a candle in it and turn the little white plaques for the movie to shine on the wall.
The only problem with it is that since it’s only 1 candlepower, you have to keep it close to the wall and sit real close to it also. So close that you often caught your hair on fire! Ouch !!

It’s a lithophane lamp. A candle in the center would shine through the porcelain panels. Light shining through the thin and thick areas of the porcelain panels produced a detailed image comprised of light and shadow.

I couldn’t decide right away. At first I thought it might have been an early “movie lamp” which I cannot think of the correct name of. But, I don’t see any crank to turn it. So, I’ll say it’s a Fairy lamp. An old one, White porcelain, with a metal stand. It’s a pretty one too, English or German maybe?

I’m guessing it’s a lantern that runs on kerosene. I can’t see the inside, so there’s no way of knowing for sure if there’s a candle, a mantle or a wick. That would be the best clue to indicate the way it gives light.

This is a lithophane lamp. The panels are made of porcelain impressed with a scene, and when the lamp is lit, presumably by a candle, the dimensional scenes are shaded from light to dark. They look like black and white prints.

I can’t tell if that is a loop on the left side to hold the object. You can view the different decorative inserts when there is a light source.
