a microphone
Pictured is a hand-held microphone with a cloth cord, possibly used by the military, 1920s. Thanks for participating!
I think it is a hand held speaker. In the early days of radio to listen to the radio you had to have a set of earphones or a hand held speaker to hear the radio.
Definitely a vintage hand-held microphone; the pin plugs are missing from the wire ends.
A listening device for hard of hearing.
It’s a Whiz ! Bang ! Buzzer ! of an old school medical device, meant for….well…you know…..helping women to relax, to electrically massage their cares away.
or it’s a microphone so they can talk about it !
It is a hand held microphone
Announcers microphone
Defroster for refrigerator freezer ! Or else it turns into a 12 inch block of ice ! Been there and done that !
Hand held microphone
Telephone handle possibly for switchboard?!

Yes, it either heats up something or may be a microphone. Whatever it is, it’s at least from the 20’s or 30’s (or older), from the looks of the frayed fabric-covered electric cord! Never seen something like this……maybe I’m not old enough! (82) Ha!
I think it is for heating a cup of coffee.
Hair dryer ???

Looks like a Whatsit ? I don’t know, except it may heat up.
I’m not certain on this, as it looks a little different than the ones I’ve seen in the past. But it might be a cigarette/cigar lighter.
I’ve seen these attached to the Art Deco 1920-40’s standing ashtrays. They sit on very attractive bases, and the lighter sits in one space, the actual ashtray’s (usually 2 I think) sit on either side, and there is usually something else, a little lamp? or something as well.
I haven’t spotted one of these in at least 10-12 years, so it’s just a guess!
A burner of some kind, perhaps for heating medicines?
Portable heater used for defrosting freezers
I don’t think it’s an audio device, but the electric cord suggests it heats up; maybe for melting wax?
