Wine Stain

To remove a red wine stain: Wet with club soda or distilled water to dilute the wine. Stretch the tablecloth over a bowl. Hold a kettle about 24 inches above the spot. Pour boiling water on the spot. Wash. Do not put a stained piece in the dryer; the heat will set the stain. Try the boiling water treatment several times. If it is not successful, try a commercial spot remover. But remember, fragile linens could be damaged by these new products.
