Take Care When You Hire Help

Be careful when you hire someone to transport an antique or collectible to a dealer, auction, gallery, restorer, museum, storage facility or anywhere else. Get some form of receipt and contract describing the piece and exactly what you want done. Keep a record. Paintings sent to be restored have been sold, storage boxes have been looted, and movers can damage or misplace things. Lawsuits are expensive and not very successful.
