Protecting Furniture

Protect the finish on your furniture. Put felt pads on the bottom of lamps and other ornaments that sit on tabletops. If you like vases of fresh flowers, buy custom-cut pieces of glass to protect whole tabletops and chest tops from water stains. Look in the phone book or online for a local source. But be sure to put small, round, clear plastic discs under the glass to let air circulate. Both felt and plastic discs are available in hardware stores and home improvement stores.
