Not making your bed may be good for your health, because bedbugs and dust mites don’t like fresh air and sunlight. Your antique textiles should also be protected from bugs. Air out the collection at least once a year, look for signs of damage from insects, and refold in a new way to be sure the lines of the old fold are flat. Store in unbleached muslin or a well-washed white pillowcase.
