There are insects that eat hair, books, sweaters, carpet, wood and anything organic. Watch out for moths. Their larva eat wool or silk clothing and make the famous moth holes. Before they do much damage they are young and leave webs and sand-like waste on the fabric. Silver fish eat the starch in the glue used in book bindings and the gelatin on photographs. Carpet beetles larvae eat wool, feathers, leather, rawhide, and fur. They like protein.
