Animation cels are made of flammable cellulose nitrate that burns quickly. After 1940 cels were made of acetate, not nitrate and were safer to store. Don’t stack cels. They will fuse together. The thick paint will chip or flake and the cel may shrink or wrinkle. Best storage is between sheets of glass away from heat and humidity changes.
