Some tips on what to take to a flea market: a flashlight, especially if you go early-bird; a mirror with a handle you can use to examine the bottom of a piece of furniture; pre-wet tissues that can be used to wash your hands or a dirty find; a roadmap of the area in case you get lost; reference books like Kovels’ Antiques & Collectibles Price Guide 2020, bubble wrap or an old blanket to protect fragile pieces on the drive home; and bungee cords to keep the trunk shut. Of course, you already have a shopping bag, money, sunscreen, magnet, tape measure, pencil and paper, and a cell phone (think camera).
