Monogrammed clothes are back in style. Vintage blouses, sweaters, suitcases and purses with the original owner’s initials are in demand because top designers today are adding a monogram to new clothing. Look for a vintage shirt or blouse with a monogrammed pocket or cuff. They were stylish in the 1950s.

I guess I’m still too young for success at collecting
(age 71). I have bias about monogrammed items and
consider them tacky. That is called prejudice and
will/would prevent me from acquiring the item.

Businessmen grasp bias and trends and have learned
that what’s one man’s tea is another’s poison. The
smart collector or buyer differentiates between his
taste appeasement and the markets and cow-tows
to the market’s taste for items available for sale.

Bias is costly to a prudent businessman always.
Retails sell to all usually, not only to their intimate
and best friends and relatives …..
