Vinyl LP records should be stored upright so they do not warp. They should be handled by the edges only. Do not leave the record on the turn table. It will collect dust.

I have a large collection of very thick, heavy vinyl (I think) records that are likely early 1900’s. None have jackets. They are very sturdy, thick records and sound fine on my 45 player although they are nearly the size of an LP. Classical music. I am concerned about storing them correctly & cleaning them properly. They look like new ~ There are maybe 500 of them & I’m willing to sell some. Does anyone know of a forum where I could get more information on them?

If LP records are stored upright, they need to be tight enough to stay vertical, otherwise they will warp.
45rpms need to be on a flat surface so they don’t warp. I store my 45s in an old keypunch card file with a dust cover over the 22-drawer cabinet(s). Each drawer with a fabric liner can store 3 stacks of 45s.
