Condition is an important part of the value of a baseball card. Handle them as little as possible with clean hands or cotton gloves. Avoid direct sunlight, heat, cold, water or extreme temperatures. Store in boxes or approved plastic holders. Very valuable cards should be appraised, recorded and stored properly. PSA (Professional Sports Authenticator) appraised cards are put in tamper proof cases made of two pieces of plastic “welded” together. The thin label is made to allow the writing to show on both sides so another label can’t be pasted on top to fool a buyer.
