Rhinestone pins made since the 1930s can be judged by these clues. “Good” are made of white metal that is twisted, not soldered. Stones are pasted in place. “Better” have some colored rhinestones, prong set, with brass colored mounting. And “best” are marked with a maker’s name like Eisenberg, and have detailed settings and prong-set Swarovski rhinestones in rhodium-plated metal. Condition must be good with no missing rhinestones or metal.

What is the best way to reattach pins that have come off fashion/costume brooches and clips that have come off earrings? I have both vintage and new pieces I would like to get repaired but was told by a ”professional” jewelry repairer it can’t be done. I didn’t believe that because something had to have been done to attach them in the first place, so can you offer some advice?
