Research has shown that touching an object offered for sale can increase your interest in owning it and make you more willing to pay a high price. And the longer you touch the object, the stronger the feelings. So if you’re selling an antique, invite customers to handle it. If you’re buying an antique, remember that you may become willing to pay more if you hold it. At least that’s the advice given to shoppers in a well-known psychology textbook.
