Difference of temperature can damage your glass

Never put a hot glass in cold water or a cold glass in hot water. Temperature change can crack any type of glass. We once put Jell-O in a cut glass bowl, and then chilled it in the refrigerator. After dinner we took the empty bowl to the sink, rinsed it with hot water, and almost cried as we watched it crack in half on one of the deep cuts in the glass.
