When traveling, keep an extra credit card in a safe place that is NOT in your wallet or purse. If you are robbed, you will have a way to get some money. We were once robbed at the Colosseum in Rome. The thief got a bag full of guide books and some prescription sunglasses, but not our credit cards. It still took half a day to explain the problem to the police–and we had to have a police report because the thief broke a window in our rented car.

Best advice for this is NEVER leave objects that look like purses or bags in your car.
