I’m having a hard time finding a Volupte compact like this online to learn about it. Specifically, I’m not finding any that have this loose powder dispenser on one side. Can anyone fill me in on details about this?

Found the following information on another site I belong to:
The one I identified as most like yours was silver with a black that is supposed to look like leather. It sold on eBay for $14.99 on January 25, 2013. The original category was Collectables: Vanity-Perfume & Shaving: Compact: 1930-1949.
The eBay title was “Vintage 3-Compartment Ladies Compact Vintage Face Powder, Rouge & Lip Rouge.” The photos shown were similar to yours but not exact.
This one had a paper cover over the powder that said “All the money in the world could not buy a better product than Volupte Face Powder. Ask for it.”
It is described as having a shiny metal two sided mirror separating the powder from the rouge. It does not, however, show the area you show in the back with holes in it. There were several other styles of compacts containing these same 3 products. Of the ones I looked at, when they sold on eBay, the selling price was less than $20.00. I know how frustrating it can be to search and search and come up empty handed, so I hope this information will be useful to you. Good luck, Vickie

Thank you, Vickie! I’m so curious to know more about it because it was my grandmother’s.

Oh ,, I see what you mean now !! Didn`t look at that pic closely !! Let me look tomorrow and I will see if I can find something similar !! They made tons of these compacts in every conceivable style !!

Thank you, Martha. I’m so curious about it because it belonged to my grandmother.

And where are you looking for loose powder ?? I see rouge for the cheeks and Lip Rouge,, lip color !! That is what it says on top !! Lip Rouge !! No loose powder that I see !!
Yours is probably from the 30`s oor 40`s ,, after that you see more tube lipsticks !! You could buy compacts with whatever a lady needed !! Most were to carry in an evening bag !! Some actually were evening bags with a chain or similar to carry it !!

Martha, the bottom right photo shows the loose powder section. The holes dispense powder. The circle spins to fill it and then dispense it.

Or at least it looks like it would be for loose powder.
