I have this H. Von Heinrich ‘Romeo & Juliet’ piece.
It is framed and the panel feels like glass. It’s not reverse painted, as the painting is on the front. Some areas have a texture to it, like etched. Light shines through it. What technique or type of artwork is this called? Thank you for any help.
First photo is not back lit. 2nd photo is back lit, 3rd photo is of the back.

All kind of pics and prints can be done on glass !! I doubt yours was intended to be back lit !! I can see the push points that would have held the backing and the print in place ! The push points should always be behind the backing and the print so they do not show from the front !!
Just look up prints on glass !!

Thanks for the reply Martha. Actually you can’t see the push points from the front, the outer framing covers them. Where you see them is in the last photo that was taken from the back. The first 2 photos were taken from the front, first without back lighting and the second with back lighting.

Any idea of value? Print is 8 x 10 inch, frame is 15 x 18 inch.
