I got this set from an auction and it’s beautiful, but since there are no markings on the bottom, I’ve had a frustrating time trying to figure out who made it and when. It has the Kutani-style design, but it is a man and not Geisha Girls like I am used to seeing on Kutani pieces. Plus this set looks more aged and is made from a very thin eggshell type material instead of run-of- the-mill porcelain.
I have tried Google Lens and EBay to try to search by image and no luck. I have searched all over the web by describing it, but it pulls up the Geisha Girls pieces every time.
I thought surely I would find it on this site, but no luck so far. I don’t know if there was a mark on this and it wore off or if there never was a mark.
I will paste a few pics and maybe someone can help me. I’ll put pics of every angle and I also have one where I am holding the saucer up to the light to show how translucent it is.
Thanks in advance to anyone who may have an opinion or information to share. Also, this is my first time posting on a forum, and frankly I am still a newbie to all this, so please forgive me if I worded anything wrong or sound like the amateur I am!
Thank you so much for your help, I have a lot to learn…lol…have a great week!
