My mother was an avid collector of cut glass and recently passed away. In going through her estate, we came across two (2) beautiful glass decanters. They were appraised as “Stevens & Williams 10″ vases, intaglia green cut to pink glass attributed to Joshua Hadgett”. While they are very beautiful, living in earthquake country makes me quite nervous about displaying them and I would like them to go to a nice home. I am not familiar with the antique glass market and would appreciate any suggestions on places / persons who may be interested in these pieces. Many thanks!

I am assuming you are in California since you mentioned earthquakes !! You should be able to find one with this listing !! Of course everyone knows Bonhams and that would be the first one I would check with !! Most will have specialized sales at various times !! They can advise you !!
And be clear about what these are,, a matched pair of 10 inch Stevens and Williams vases !! Not decanters !! It can make a difference !!

Thank you so much for the advice. Do you have any recommendations on auction houses that specialize in antique glass?

I would suggest consigning them to a good auction house ! Hopefully they gave you a written appraisal !! They would likely bring more with proper advertising !!
