Hi all
While hiking in the mountains near an old gold mine in Montana, I came across an old purex bottle. it is brown and has the word purex molded into the side. It also has the original cork stopper with it. If anyone can tell me more about it I would love to know. Perhaps a year manufactured or possible worth. Thanks-Linda84074

I have a pair of these very early 20s PUREX bottles now, do you think they’ve changed in value at all in the last 13 years?

Here is some info on Purex Bleach-

1922 — The first jug of Purex Bleach, to be followed by a superior phosphate-free laundry detergent, is formulated in the garage of a house in Los Angeles. Today, Purex® is the reigning value detergent and Number 2 brand.

1927
Purex Chemical Corp. was incorporated. Purex was the first company to sell liquid bleach in grocery stores.

I would think yours is an early bottle since it has the cork stopper.

As for value, sorry but not much these days (less than $10). Maybe in the future (one can hope). I actually dug one up myself once in Kentucky while metal detecting an old homestead several years back. I held onto it and still have it but it’s just a conversation piece along with the rest of my “junk”.

Hope this helps.
