Don’t send out your antique white linen or cotton items to be dry-cleaned. The chemicals will yellow the fabric. Hand wash them in soap, non-chlorine bleach and tepid water. Be sure to rinse until all soap is removed.

I have beautiful table linens that came with my great-grandmother’s dining room suite. Unfortunately, they had been sent to the dry cleaners repeatedly in the past. I’m told that the large. dark gray spots are from the cleaners not looking after spills on the linens properly. Interestingly, the dry cleaners locally no longer take work from individuals, only from companies.
Is these any way that I came correct/improve these lovely linens?
