    The convention of the Federation of Historical Bottle Collectors was in Ohio. There were lectures, exhibits of collections—from ink bottles to battery jars to jelly jars—and lots of dealers and collectors.

  • Wrecking Ball Lamp
    February 2011 – Art Basel & Design Miami

    The largest art show in the United States is the Art Basel show held in Miami Beach every December. The Design Miami show goes on at the same time. This lamp is called the “Wrecking Ball Lamp.” It looks like a toy crane with a wrecking ball. Price: $36,000. Four sold at the show.

  • October 2010 – Hawken School – Part I

    The annual outdoor antique show at Hawken School in Gates Mills, Ohio, is now held inside a building. It started 25 years ago as a school fundraiser, with dealers’ booths on the grounds. It has gradually become a large show with many out-of-town dealers who sell both country and sophisticated wares.
