Bank Pins
Q: While cleaning out my mother’s drawers, I found a box of Royal Ruth Bank Pins. The pins are about 1 1/4 inches long. The box reads “Made of Guaranteed Super Plated Steel Wire / Needle Points / No. 20 / 1/2 lb.” They look just like regular straight pins, but I’d like to know old they are and what “bank pins” were used for.
