Taxidermy is becoming a craft of interest to both men and women. Classes in Cleveland are held in a boutique. For $100 each, the class can learn to stuff white rats or rabbits. Mounted heads and bodies of all sorts of wildlife sell well at antiques auctions. Of course, the Endangered Species Act makes it illegal to sell some old specimens. Anthropomorphized frogs (Kovels Komments, March 2012), squirrels (Kovels Komments, March 2007), baby alligators, and mice have been mounted into fantasy settings and sell as collectible folk art or decorator’s choices for the sun porch.
