Fake advertising cards and signs for vintage knife companies are showing up at shows, according to a long article in the January 2013 issue of “Knife World.” Ads that have been unknown, especially for Case cutlery, are seen far too often. Some of the cards are very similar to advertising cards that were used for other products, almost as if the original card was copied, then the brand name was Photoshopped to make it more valuable. A business card for Dean Case is most likely a fake, because Dean always used the name “Dean J. Case,” with his middle initial, to avoid confusion with other members of the Dean family.
