I always wonder how a story about a great find or a great loss turns out, so we keep watching events from previous Kovels Komments news stories.

The California couple who took a healthy “golden” walk and found some half-buried cans of gold coins on their property (see Kovels Komments, Mar. 5, 2014) have sold part of the gold. The coins, many in pristine condition, have dates from the late 1800s. They are being sold by Kagin’s Inc. and some are available on Amazon. Each coin will be priced individually. The total estimated value of the coins--over $10 million.

The government came back and said they had no evidence or claim on the coins

I thought that these gold coins were being claimed by some government entity that said that they were stolen back in the 1800's. Did that get resolved?
