A battery-powered Seiko watch with a digital display sold for $7,500 at ComicConnect.com, an online comic marketplace and auctioneer. The extremely rare Seiko/Ex Machina WristMac, known as the first Apple Watch, was released in 1988, more than 25 years before 2015’s Apple Watch. The WristMac It is one of the first pieces of wearable computing technology. It was programmable, designed to connect to a Macintosh desktop computer using a technology called AppleTalk. When the astronauts aboard the Space Shuttle Atlantis sent the first email from space on Aug. 28, 1991, they wore WristMac watches to coordinate with the Macintosh Portable and Apple Link software aboard the shuttle.  The WristMac was sold with its original packaging in mint condition, including the box, reference manual, registration card and the floppy disk for AppleTalk.
