A Chinese porcelain brush pot by a 20th-century artist received bids that reached $534,300, including buyer’s premium, at Clars Auction Gallery in Oakland, Calif., on Feb. 17, 2013. It was estimated at $6,000 to $8,000. The artist, Wang Bu (1898-1968), is popular and his work has been getting high prices. The blue and white brush pot is 6 1/2 inches high.
