The Titanic makes news again. A letter written by Alexander Oskar Holverson, an American businessman who died on the Titanic, auctioned in England for the world record price of $165,776. He had written it to his mother the day before the ship hit the iceberg. Included with the letter was a photograph of Holverson and his wife, Mary Alice. His wife survived. Other Titanic items were sold at the Henry Aldridge & Son auction in Devizes, England. Included were a set of keys that belonged to a steward in the Titanic’s First Class that sold for $100,244 and two unpublished photos of the Titanic for $31,656.
