We visited the 32nd Annual Western Reserve Academy Antiques Festival in Hudson, Ohio, last fall and spotted some creative reworked jewelry. There were necklaces made from contemporary beaded strands with added antique charms—from engraved lockets to compasses, sealing wax stamps, vintage medals and old coins.

Some necklaces had multiple charms, mixing old and new. They were well-constructed and attractive. Prices ranged from about $120 to $425.

The necklaces were being sold by Judy and Lisa Taylor of Mt. Pleasant, S.C. Visit LisaMTaylorDesigns.com.
