A: Your china was made by Seltmann Weiden. The pattern with blue flowers and dots looks like “Doris,” sometimes called Bavarian Blue. The Christian Seltmann Porcelain Factory was founded in Weiden, Bavaria, Germany, in 1910. The company made moderately-priced porcelain and began making hotel china in 1920. The company has exported china to the United States since the late 1940s and is still owned by members of the Seltmann family. It is part of the Seltmann Weiden Group, a group of eight china manufacturers. In 2000 Seltmann USA was formed in Lake Bluff, Illinois, to import and stock Seltmann Weiden china. The sugar and creamer alone are worth about $40.
