J & C Vase

Q: Can you give me any information about this vase? It’s about 18 1/2 inches tall. There is a moose on the front and this mark with “J & C” between crossed flowers on the bottom.

A: This mark was used by Jaeger & Co. of Marktredwitz, Bavaria, Germany, a company in business from 1898 to 1979. it was sold to an Italian company and became Jaeger Porcelain GmbH. Jaeger & Co. made giftware items, decorative porcelain, and household and hotel porcelain. This mark was used from 1898 to about 1923.
