This is an ice crusher (coarse or fine chop), made by the Dazey Corporation, New Britain, Conn.

It's a wind-up toy rocket ship. See the fins on the bottom? You wind it up with the handle, take the handle off, then get out of the way 'cause it's gonna take off !!

Nah, actually it's a coffee grinder. You put the coffee beans in and turn the crank, and turn the crank, and turn the crank and eventually you get ground coffee.
You put the ground coffee in a coffee pot, add boiling hot water, let it soak and you get fresh, hot coffee. Pour some in your cup, add some cream and sugar, then Get Outta the Way 'cause now YOU'RE gonna take off !!

Hmmm, maybe it's just a small ice crusher?

It is an ice crusher. I had one, but the bottom was a solid bin.
