Q: This black bear has been in our family since 1945 or so. I have no idea where my Dad got it. It’s in excellent shape. The mark on the front underside is “MTC” in a circle. Who made this and what is it worth?

A: Your bear was made by the Mosaic Tile Co. of Zanesville, Ohio. The company was founded by Karl Langerbeck and Herman Mueller in 1894 and was in business until 1967. Plain and ornamental tiles, ashtrays, bookends, and other giftware were made. Your bear is worth about $125.
