Q: I recently acquired this “Tiffany” style lamp. Can you tell me anything about it?
A: Louis Comfort Tiffany (1848-1933) was an American glass designer who worked from about 1879 to 1933. Most Tiffany lamps have bronze bases and leaded glass shades. Tiffany lamps were almost always marked. If the base is marked “Tiffany Studios” and the shade marked “L.C. Tiffany” or “L.C.T.,” you have a Tiffany lamp. Tiffany style lamps were made by several other manufacturers. Your lamp does have a glass shade, but it does not resemble the shape of glass shades made by Tiffany. The base is probably patinated spelter, not bronze. Value, about $300.

I have a slag glass electric lamp a very ornate shade with metal and carmel color glass. What would be a reasonable price for it?
