Want to collect a very rare type of sports memorabilia that seems low-priced today? Look for the official blankets worn by horses that won important races. The official winner's blanket worn by Big Brown when he won the 2008 Kentucky Derby sold this month for $3,630. It is white with an embroidered bouquet of roses, the words "Kentucky Derby 134," and the date of the race. There are many game-worn jerseys of individual baseball players, but there is only one winner's blanket from an important horserace.
