A colorful Chinese "lotus bowl" made between 1662 and 1722 sold for $9.5 million at a Sotheby’s auction in Hong Kong on April 9, 2013. The ruby red bowl, decorated with pink, yellow, and blue lotuses, is tiny, about 3 inches in diameter by 1 1/2 inches high.
