Don't be afraid to wash your Thanksgiving tablecloth or vintage linen fabrics. You can put them in a washing machine with soap and even use bleach. Don't dry linen in a machine.

Before washing, hold any part of the cloth with a wine stain over a clean sink or tub....poor boiling water (from
your teapot or saucepan) over the stain.
It will disappear. I learned this from
a laundress in the 50's and it never fails. It can save you from having to use bleach which can, in turn, preserve a vintage linen cloth for another occasion! Yellowing of vintage lines
is lightened or completely gone witha long soak in oxi-clean. I have saved
most of my Mother's linens including the ones that still have their "Chinese Laundry" number!

Happy Thanksgiving clean up....
