It's here! Kovels' Antiques & Collectibles Price Guide, our new 2014 edition, arrived early. It's in our warehouse and probably in most bookstores right now. The cover is a cheerful magenta with yellow lettering. The book is filled with color-coded pages of the latest prices. All real prices reviewed for accuracy, no estimates.

Kovels' Antiques and Collectibles Price Guide 2014Need to know the latest prices for silver tea sets, gold jewelry, Chinese art, English porcelains, folk art, and other antiques whose prices have been jumping around all year? We list "all things wonderful" used in America from the 17th to the 21st century, including affordable furniture, toys, pottery, and a whole lot more. Once in a while we were surprised by very high prices that indicated a change in some buyers' thinking or a special collection, so we put those in too.

Prices range from $1 for a saucer made by Harker to $239,000 for a Babe Ruth baseball cap. Oddities like a vampire killing kit for $14,800, a cut glass toupee stand from the American Brilliant period for $590, and an iron manhole cover with an image of Ashville, N.C. city hall $470, tell us that collectors have a sense of humor. Emerging collectibles like modernist jewelry and twentieth-century studio pottery (still some bargains to be had) are listed along with old standbys like toy cars, mechanical banks and political memorabilia (going up in price).

The economy has been confusing this year. Collectors are downsizing and selling—or looking for bargains and buying. Changing prices make our book more important than ever. Do you mind if we brag? We include more than 35,000 new prices, 2,500 new color photos, hundreds of logos, factory histories, countless cross-references, record-setting prices, tips, sidebars, and a computer-generated index that make this book easy to read.

The three questions we're asked most often are: "How old is it? Where was it made? What's it worth?" The easiest way to answer is to go back to our schooldays, when alphabetical lists were everywhere. So we organized over 700 categories that cover an enormous range of interests into alphabetical order, making a search much easier. Our new magenta Kovels' Antiques & Collectibles Price Guide 2014 is easy to spot at the bookstore, and when you read it, you can learn to recognize trends and make smart decisions about collecting, buying, or selling.

Buy our new book now. You will need it on your next shopping expedition!

#1 Royal China Currier & Ives Blue Saucers varationsbeckia7759 2016-09-11 21:12
Hello!
It looks like my Royal China Currier & Ives Blue saucers are different sizes and intensity of color. Could there be a difference depending on the round handle cup or point handle cup sets?
Thanks for your help!
