Poole Pottery

Poole Pottery was founded in Poole, England, in 1873 and worked under several names. In 1908 the firm was incorporated as Carter and Company, Ltd. In 1921 a subsidiary company, Carter, Stabler and Adams, was formed to develop art pottery. This firm’s name was changed to Poole Pottery Ltd. in 1962. The company was originally owned by Jesse Carter, and his name appeared in the mark until 1952.
