Record Price for Smoothing Iron

A record price was set for any fabric smoothing iron in an auction at Hartzell’s in Bangor, Pennsylvania, when it sold for $55,250. It is the only known example of the fist form iron made by J.G.F. Libby. It was sold to a museum in Romania.
